Boys JV Basketball team loses 58-52 at the hands of the East Kentwood Falcons
Thursday night, the Rangers competed against East Kentwood in a hard-fought game. The game was back and forth the whole time, with plays happening quickly one after the other. Unfortunately, the boys ended up losing a close game to EK 58-53.
During this game, sophomore Ben Scholler played great, doing a nice job with handling the opposing team’s pressure and helping to cause disruptions on the defensive end. Sophomore Conner Milton also played very well, dominating on the glass all night.
Overall the team shot much better last night than against FHE in its last game. Both sophomores Jacob Bonnett and Pierson Van Gorp had some clutch threes towards the end of the game. At half time, the boys were down ten, but they were able to close the gap and tie it up with four minutes left. Unfortunately for the Rangers, they were defeated by five points at the end of the night.
“This was a really entertaining game to be a part of because it was so back and forth, and I’m really proud of how we competed,” head coach Jordan George said.
The next game for the Rangers is on Thursday, January 2nd at 1:30 PM, starting the Cornerstone tournament.
