Sneider strives as Rangers easily take down the Yellow Jackets 75-14

The boys freshman basketball team cruised past the Yellow Jackets of Greenville this Thursday night. Behind center Sam Sneider’s 14 points, the team dominated its opponent. The Rangers got off to a strong start, gaining a 12 point lead after the first quarter. Head Coach Adam Monroe was pleased with his team’s ability to get out and score in transition. The only thing holding them back was the early foul trouble.

“The only negative was early foul trouble that we were able to clean up later in the game,” Adam said after the game.

The first quarter concluded and there was no looking back for the Rangers. The airtight defense that the boys forced upon the Yellow Jackets only allowed for 9 more points in the last 3 quarters. This is the first conference game for the freshmen, and they have proved that they are a strong candidate to take the conference title.

“The momentum of this win transforms over to the rest of our conference play being our first,” Adam said. It has been a goal for this team to claim the conference title from the beginning and getting this “dominant win really sends a message to our conference.”

With a 75-14 win over Greenville, the boys improve to 4-1 and 1-0 in conference play. On Tuesday, January 14, FHC travels to Cedar Springs to face off against the Red Hawks. Monroe says that he plans to prepare for Cedar Springs the same as any game, and he has set a goal for his team to give up less than 14 points in the upcoming challenge.
