Boys JV Basketball finishes season out strong with 29 point win over Unity Christian
Sophomore Jacob Bonnett set the tone for the boys JV basketball team’s last game of the season against Unity Christian. The Rangers finished off the season with a bang, beating Unity by a score of 74-45.
Against Unity, the boys had a great fast-paced game and quickly jumped to a 25-9 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Rangers worked hard on defense, forcing many turnovers that they were able to turn into easy baskets. During this game, head coach Jordan George had the team play a 1-2-2 zone press to force these turnovers and to overwhelm the opposing guards. Jacob had a great first quarter, scoring 17 points and helping on defense. Towards the end of the game, sophomores Maxime Larmande and Matthew Mittlestadt came in, bringing fresh energy and ensuring that the boys finished the game strong.
“For our last game of the year, we finished it exactly how we wanted to,” George said. “I couldn’t ask for a better group of guys to coach this year. For them to win a conference championship and finish 17-3 is something I know they will remember for a long time.”
