Girls JV golf wins in a tie-breaker against Grand Rapids Christian
The girls JV golf team won its game against Grand Rapids Christian on Wednesday, with a combined score of 194— their best team score of the year. Freshman Bella Preston and sophomore Serena Theide led the way for the team with great individual scores. Bella shot a 45 and Serena shot a 48 respectively, putting the team in a great position for the rest of the match.
Freshman Bella Preston thinks that their coach is the reason for the improvement saying. Their progression throughout the season is in thanks to the ambitious quality of the coaches and players.
“Coach is really good at coaching all of us and knows exactly how to fix what’s going wrong,” Bella explained. “If our coach sees something that we are all struggling on at a match, we practice that.”
The team is really hitting their stride at the right moment, with only 2 weeks left in the season.
“We making great strides and working hard and it’s starting to pay off,” said head coach Chris Sobieck.
The team looks to end the season on a high note, with only 4 matches left. They play their next game on Monday, September 21 at 3:45 against East Grand Rapids.
