Girls JV golf has a remarkable performance to win its second straight match
On Monday, the girls JV golf team beat East Grand Rapids with a combined score of 190-181. This was the team’s second straight win, and best overall score of the year for the third consecutive match. The team has certainly hit its stride, and with only 3 games left, they really needed these previous 2 wins.
There were multiple career best scores from players such as freshman Ava Bacon, who shot a 42 and freshman Hailey Miller who shot a 46. Both freshmen continue to improve as the season progresses.
Head coach Chris Sobieck had great things to say about the team, but more specifically, the improvements of Ava Bacon.
“I am very impressed with the effort and determination from [Ava]. I could tell last practice she was going to make a big jump,” Sobieck said.
Sophomore Serena Thiede is noticing the massive improvements from the team and is giving credit to Coach Sobieck.
“Our coach has been helping us out a lot and it’s really awesome how far we have come,” said Serena.
With the season coming to an end, the team could not be any happier with how they have been playing recently.
The team will try to improve to 3 straight wins on Wednesday against Lowell.
