Girls JV golf crushes Northview to win its third straight game
On Wednesday, the girls JV golf team won for the third time in a row. They defeated Northview by a combined score of 224-189. The match was at Thornapple Pointe, which is known to be a tough course to play. Freshman Ava Bacon and sophomore Serena Thiede continued their consistent play and had the two best scores on the team.
Head coach Chris Sobieck had some great things to say about the team.
“Amazing improvement from the team as they are improving in all aspects of the game,” he said.
Freshman Eisley Sandefur also had an outstanding match, scoring a 52. Eisley and the rest of the girls on the team continued to praise their coach for the team’s recent success.
“Honestly for me, it started out rough but with the help of the coach coming around, I improved a lot in that game,” Eisley said.
The team seems to be very tight-knit and close together right now, more than any other point this season, and the results have shown it.
The team is now 5-7 and will play its next match on Monday against Byron Center at 3:45. With only two matches left in the season, the girls will look to end the season on a high note.
