Girls swim and dive easily takes the win over Grand Rapids Christian 112-74

The girls FHC swim team took on Grand Rapids Christian on Tuesday with senior Emily Johnson leading the Rangers to victory. FHC took the win by a score of 112-74, swimming very well despite being down by three swimmers. Emily had a great meet and showed leadership in the Rangers’ fourth meet. 

Emily swam very well against GRCH; she qualified for states for the third time, taking first place in the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 25.32. Freshman Olivia Oorbeck also qualified for states for the first time this season, taking first place in the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:15.75. Both of the girls showed very well, helping to boost their team’s overall score. 

On the diving side of the competition, sophomore Noelle Stewart took second place with a score of 170.65, sophomore Olivia Thornley took fourth place with a score of 162.40, and sophomore Payton Dailey took sixth place, scoring a 152.24. These three have been doing very well this season, always placing high in the dive rankings.   

The girls’ next meet is on Saturday October 17th at 10 AM at the Aquatic Center. The Rangers will swim against FHNE for the second time, creating another meet full of rivalry.
