JV field hockey two game stretch
Forest Hills JV field hockey faced off against Marian on a calm, chilly evening and couldn’t come out on top, but tied 2-2.
This was another good matchup just like their game against Rockford last week. I’m glad that all these teams could still have a season with this pandemic ruining other sports left and right. At least they still get to go outside and play the game they love playing.
“We didn’t know for sure if we were going to have a season or not and when we got the news we were really excited and ready to play,” sophomore Mackenzie Wintritch said.
After this game, they went on to play the Ann Arbor Pioneers going into this matchup with a record of 3-2-2, with Pioneers having a very close record too.
JV Field Hockey competed with the Pioneers with an end result of 1-0.
They had taken over their closest matchup of the season by playing smart and determined by consistently moving the ball throughout the field with minimal to no errors.
The ball was mostly on the Pioneers’ side of the field for the most part of the game. Forest Hills did a great job of penetrating the opposing goalie and ended up slipping one into the net.
“This was one of our best games and ending the season with a win feels really good,” Makenzie said.
With the JV and varsity field hockey teams doing great, next year will be exciting with the upcoming sophomores and the returning juniors on the varsity squad next year.
