The Central Trend

Cora Beels

Cora Beels, Junior Writer

Cora is entering her second year at CHS and first-year writing for The Central Trend. While new to her, she is excited to explore column writing and see where it takes her. Although she is not the most enthusiastic about sports, she’s proud to say she was part of the FHC JV tennis team last fall and hopes to join again this coming fall. When out of school, Cora likes to spend her time hanging out with friends and procrastinating on homework. Despite her grandparent’s consistent questions, Cora has still not quite figured out what she wishes to pursue later in life. She hopes that perhaps participating in The Central Trend could help her find an answer to this question.

Magic Cat Academy 3, a look into the final installment of the Google Doodle saga

Cora Beels, Junior Staff Writer November 11, 2024

Every once in a while Google graces us with a little game or fun fact in its logo, which I’ve now learned is called Google Doodles. Even if I tried, I don’t think I could come up with a better name...

Five easy ways to be creative for the creatively challenged

Cora Beels, Junior Writer November 6, 2024

Being creative doesn't necessarily mean creating a perfect charcoal sketch of a famous celebrity or a tranquil painting of a sunset. You can be creative without necessarily being a “creative person.”...

Cora Beels, Junior Writer November 4, 2024

Let's be honest: as much as Thanksgiving is about gratitude, it's also very much about the food. As someone who comes from a big family, our Thanksgiving spread is equally hefty. So much so that my...

Cora Beels, Junior Writer September 11, 2024

Dear elementary school lunch tables, I know I didn't appreciate you at the time. I’d like to apologize. Yes, you were bossy and loud, and yes, you’d always smell like lingering bologna and sharp...
