The Village Pub offers friendly service and a warm atmosphere
A road trip with five teenage girls entails for a lot of good conversations, jam sessions in the car, and lot of food. When we travel to new places, we are more susceptible to trying new places and new food and when my friends and I went on our Winter Break road trip, we stopped at many new restaurants. But out of all the places that we went, The Villager Pub was one that stuck out the most. After an hour drive from Traverse City, all five of us were ready to shop and eat, and after shopping for a bit we fell upon The Villager Pub. With a spectacular spot on the bay and huge windows on every wall, the light welcomed you in from the cold.
After sitting down at a table near the door, we were happily greeted by our waitress to grab our drink order. All five of use are very indecisive and so it took a good five minutes for all of us to decide what we wanted to drink, but our waitress was nice and just laughed along with us. Finally deciding on what we wanted to drink, we looked over the menu to decide what we wanted to eat and there was a perfect amount of choices. Between brunch, platters, appetizers, pizza, and sandwiches the choices felt plentiful but not overbearing. The Villager Pub offers a sandwich that I have never seen anywhere else, and is it good. The Grilled Mac and Cheese sandwich was something unlike any other, with the mix of toasted sourdough bread and also the mac and cheese in the formation of a patty, it was all pulled together with the horsey sauce for dipping.
Along with the amazing food, the atmosphere and service was extraordinary. Our waitress, Amanda, really got into talking with us about where we were from and also about up north. She really was a great waitress with recommending food and also just letting her personality show through. After being in the restaurant for almost two hours, just because our conversation with Amanda wouldn’t end, and we were okay with that. If you ever manage to make your way to Charlevoix, Michigan, make sure you stop into The Villager Pub for a Grilled Mac and Cheese Sandwich.
