From the palm trees and the ocean seas of Florida to the hustle and bustle of downtown Ada comes a contemporary coffee chain with a delightful atmosphere and a delicious menu: Foxtail Coffee Co.
Foxtail Coffee Co. is a coffee franchise based in Florida; they also have a handful of locations in Georgia, one in Nevada, and two in Michigan—one in Ada, which opened on May 21, and one in Holland, which opened in early August.
Over the summer, I went to Foxtail many times, and each time, I simply loved being there. The decor produces the quintessential coffee shop vibe. They have a variety of seating options; from tables to counters to comfy chairs to outdoor tables, the assortment of choices makes Foxtail perfect for working, meeting, or just sitting and taking in the environment. Throughout early June, I studied for exams there, and from spreading out my math papers on a table to sitting next to the window, my cramming was more efficient.
Now, onto the focal point of every coffee shop: the coffee itself. Foxtail has a wide variety of drinks beyond just coffee, and while I haven’t tried them all, I assume they are all tasty, considering the abundance of satisfied customers I see each time I enter the shop. My go-to is an iced hazelnut latte with oat milk, and I have yet to be let down by this drink. The coffee flavor is still present, and the hazelnut does not overpower it; the two flavors complement each other.
I also tried their iced raspberry rose tea, which was delightful. I would recommend adding lemonade to this drink, as it makes the drink sweeter while simultaneously enhancing the floral and fruity notes. Even without the lemonade, the tea is delicious. I hope to try more of their teas in the future, although it will be difficult to convince myself to branch out and not get another hazelnut latte.
Foxtail has a variety of food options as well. From the breakfast and lunch menu, I’ve tried the egg, ham, and cheese croissant, and I’ve tried the Caprese panini. As for the bakery items, I’ve only tried the chocolate croissant. All of the food I’ve tried has been very good, but the Caprese panini stood out as the best, and I’ve gotten it a handful of times for an appetizing lunch. The pesto, tomato, and mozzarella all combine to make the perfect sidekick to a mid-day coffee.
As someone who has some difficulty focusing when doing work at my house, the more coffee shops, the merrier. Foxtail is now a staple in my workplace rotation, as well as my coffee rotation. It has the classic coffee shop ambiance, and as the transition into fall is upon us, the fireplace and surrounding warm lighting will only supplement the aesthetic I need in order to be productive.
To anyone in need of somewhere new to get your daily caffeine, I wholeheartedly recommend Foxtail. Despite being a chain, it feels like a cozy, local coffee shop, and the coffee and food have made me return time and time again for hazelnut latte after hazelnut latte.
