El Arriero offers delicious Mexican food in a casual setting
Mexican food has always been my favorite. From tacos and burritos to enchiladas and chile, I’ve always been content with Mexican. It is well known that there are several well known Mexican food chains around town. Although I’ve always been satisfied with Chipotle and Qdoba, El Arriero provided an authentic experience that blew me away.
Upon walking in, we were immediately seated and given menus. The decor of the restaurant was simple and subtle. Basic booths and simple tables filled the restaurant, so it was not fancy or over-embellished. However, I enjoyed this casual decoration, as it gave the restaurant a laid-back vibe.
The extensive menu covered several components of Mexican cuisine. House favorites included their many styles of chicken, such as Pollo Verde and Pollo Chipotle. Typical burritos, chimichangas, fajitas tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas were all on offer as well. After a tough decision, I ordered the Steak Burritos Tipicos.
After ordering, warm tortilla chips and dips were served for free. The queso was my favorite, although all types of salsa and other dips could be requested. The endless appetizers were a hit at our table.
The main entrees arrived promptly while we were still enjoying the tortilla chips. My burritos came with guacamole, salad, and salsa. After admiring my plate for a few seconds, I was eager to dig in. The steak was tender and nearly melted in my mouth. The tangy salsa and queso, crisp lettuce, and creamy guacamole was the perfect combination. One thing unique about my meal was the signature tomato and cheese sauce that surrounded it; this is something you will not be able to find at neighboring Mexican restaurants. I could only finish one of the two burritos they gave me, but I was very happy to take the other burrito home.
Other orders at my table included the chicken fajitas and enchiladas. Both were just as delicious as my entree. The taco salad seemed to be a popular choice by other customers and recommended by the staff themselves.
All in all, I was extremely happy with my visit to El Arriero. It’s service and decor was pleasant, although nothing out of the ordinary. However, the delectable food was what really made my experience wonderful. It would be hard to find a neighboring restaurant that could match their authentic food. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
El Arriero brands itself as “a taste of Mexico,” and that really is what you receive. It is family owned and operated, and the food is authentic and traditional Mexican. Try El Arriero next time you’re craving tasty Mexican food, and you definitely won’t regret it.
