With the start of the 2017-2018 wrestling season, the team is looking forward to seeing some new faces on the mat, including senior football player and track athlete, Mo Guerrier. Mo is entering his first season of wrestling and is excited to start working hard and staying in shape.

How many years have you been wrestling and why did you start?

I’ve actually never wrestled before so this is my first time. I wanted to try something new, and I thought of wrestling.

What makes wrestling such an important sport to you?

I have not wrestled before. It’s not so much as how important it is for me, but I will say so far under the coaching of Mr. Anderson, that I’ve learned what it means to be part of a group of guys like the wrestlers here at FHC. I have [also] learned respect, grit and most of all pride.

What is the greatest part about being on the FHC wrestling team?

The greatest part for me is the feeling you get at the end of a match, knowing you just went toe to toe with another person is a great feeling.

What are you looking forward to doing this season?

I hope to battle hard in my first match this season.”
