What is your favorite part about skiing?

“My favorite thing about skiing is probably the adventure of it. You go down hills at top speeds on two boards while trying to make the turns and beat the clock. The wind brushing against your cheeks and sucking in the cold air is something only experienced when skiing.”

When did you start skiing?

“My parents put me into ski lessons at Crystal Mountain around 3 or 4 years old.”

What is your favorite race and why?

“My personal favorite race is the Giant Slalom. The turns are easier than slalom and you don’t have to worry as much about getting your face smacked with a gate.”

What is your personal goal for this season?

“My personal goal for this year was to make the varsity team and get a varsity letter. I am racing GS on the varsity team and slalom on the JV team.”

What is your team goal for this season?

“The goal for the girl’s team for sure is to keep our title of state champions from last year. We have some strong racers on our team and I definitely think we can get there.”

What is the hardest part about skiing?

“The hardest part of skiing is the technique. Everyone can get into a “tuck” but there are so many little tweaks that the coaches can make and it makes a world of difference. Remembering all those tweaks can be a challenge.”
