Girls varsity ski has an amazing night at Cannonsburg races
The girls varsity ski team received first place in both the Grand Slalom and Slalom races last night at Cannonsburg. After having an astounding meet last week, the Lady Rangers came back with two more first place victories. Leading the team into action this week were the two Mcalindon sisters, freshman Abby and junior Courtney.
Courtney had another amazing week receiving second in the Grand Slalom and second again in the Slalom. Her best time last night was her first run in the Grand Slalom, with a time of 25.71 seconds. Her sister Abby received fourth in the Grand Slalom and eighth in the Slalom. Abby’s best run of the night was in her second run of the Grand Slalom. Her time was 26.64 seconds, only .93 seconds behind her older sister.
However, the Mcalindon sisters were not the only ones to have a successful night. Leading the team with a first place victory in the Slalom and a third place victory in the Grand Slalom was junior Kayley Reynolds. Her first run in the Grand Slalom was very successful, with a time of 32.14 seconds.
The girls race again for the Regional meet on Feb. 11 and 12 at Caberfae area in Cadillac.
