JV girls basketball brings home a win against Cedar Springs 35-21
JV girls basketball won its game on Tuesday against the Cedar Springs Red Hawks 35-21. Once again, freshmen Brittney Probst and Katie Tellier were the Rangers’ leading scorers for the night with 6 and 9 points, respectively.
The Rangers had a great start to the game with stellar play on both sides of the ball. Their press was killing the Red Hawks, and the offense was working perfectly. The Rangers were playing a one-sided game in the second quarter, dominating their opponent to lead by 6 at the half. The Rangers came out of the locker room and fell behind as the shots weren’t falling. With a motivational speech from their coach, the Rangers were able to take the game back. FHC’s press once again killed the Red Hawks offense, and both Brittney and Katie were able to get multiple steals. The Rangers weren’t letting Cedar Springs get any boards and were able to out-rebound the Red Hawks in the second half. FHC was playing exceptional in the final eight minutes to make up for the shaky third quarter and were able to walk out with a win against the Red Hawks.
With the Rangers’ exceptional defense and offense they have finally found their groove. This win puts the Rangers at 5-4 in conference play. FHC hopes to continue this winning streak against Lowell on Thursday at home.
