Varsity softball suffers heartbreaking loss against Wyoming

Last night, the Lady Rangers faced off against Wyoming. The Rangers came out with high energy, but the game slipped away from them in the last inning. The game ended with a very narrow deficit of 9-8, with the Rangers on the bottom.

Wyoming took the lead early on, but the Rangers caught up with them in the sixth inning. Unfortunately, the victory slipped away from them in the bottom of the seventh. Seniors Molly Donovan and Emma Davis and junior Jordyn Carlson each racked up multiple hits for the Rangers. Molly had 1 single, 1 double, and 1 RBI. Emma had 2 singles and 1 RBI, and Jordyn had 1 single and 1 double. She also led the team in RBI’s with 2. Senior Hailey Enbody was also able to get 1 RBI, while senior Zoey Guikema had 1 single and 1 RBI.

Sophomore Faith Addington was behind the mound for the Rangers. She allowed 12 hits and 9 runs, struck out 4, and walked 0.

This game does not affect the Rangers’ OK White Conference record, but it does affect their overall record, which is now 13-10. The Rangers face-off against Hudsonville next on Friday at Hudsonville High School.
