Girls varsity soccer picks up 5-0 win against Northview
FHC girls varsity soccer secured a key conference win against the Northview Wildcats last night. The Rangers were able to defeat the Wildcats 5-0, making their record 3-0 to start the season.
The first half started a little slow for the Rangers, their only goal coming from junior Ashley Ward off of a PK. The teams went into the half with a score of 1-0. However, the Rangers really picked up their momentum going into the second half. Senior Ali Czarnecki contributed a goal to the Rangers off of an assist from Ashley, and senior Rylee Hrnyak also scored a goal for the Rangers. Putting another shot in the back of the net was junior Kaitlyn Pointowsky, and the Rangers finished on another shot from Ashley.
Other key players for the Rangers included senior goalkeeper Emma Yoder who saved a PK and was able to help the Rangers secure a shutout. Center backs freshman Autumn Burns and senior Bree Probst were significant players, making tackle after tackle on the Wildcat forwards.
The Rangers play again on Friday, April 20 at 7:00. They will take on the FHN Huskies in a much anticipated rivalry game.
