Varsity boys golf improved its standing in the conference last night by shooting a solid 155. The top four scores came from senior Mike Batiste (37), sophomore Isaiah Humphner (37), senior Jack Lorenz (38), and senior Grant Bardelli (43).

The jamboree took place at Egypt Valley Country Club, the home site of the Forest Hills Northern Huskies. Although the Rangers played well, the home course advantage proved to be too much as Northern came in with a stellar 147 to take first. FHC’s finish marked an improvement from the last jamboree as the boys took second behind FHN, followed by Northview in third.

Senior Grant Bardelli sees that the Rangers are working hard to succeed.

“The whole team really cares a lot about the game and works each day to get better,” Grant said. “Even when players shoot well, they aren’t satisfied; they are back on the course working to get better.”

The Rangers are going to be up in Traverse City this weekend for a two-day tournament which, according to Grant, is one of the best weekends of the year.

“Traverse City is always a fun time. It’s a great chance to bond with the team and make some memories,” Grant said. “We are definitely going to have some fun and look to build off this past jamboree.”
