On Saturday afternoon, the varsity boys lacrosse team made history. Since 2002, no other public school has ever beaten Brother Rice, but FHC changed that statistic beating them 12-5. The team started the game off hot scoring goal after goal on Brother Rice right from the start in the first quarter and also wore down Brother Rice’s defense in the fourth quarter, scoring more goals once again. The Rangers achieved this win by playing a tight defensive game. Some key defensive players were seniors Kade Shomin, Andy Trapp, and junior Cam Deines. They gave Brother Rice a minimal amount of opportunities to score and when Brother Rice got past the Ranger defense, junior and starting goalie Jack Nolan was there to keep the ball out of the net. He had an outstanding game racking up plenty of saves.

Tobey Hendricks was a key offensive player, scoring 4 goals and having one assist. Along with Tobey, seniors Bryce Clay and Patrick English also had one assist. Senior Kyle Basch had an outstanding game, setting up multiple goals for the team with 6 assists. Other team scorers were Luke Majick, Jackson Clay, Kyle Collar, and Tate Hallock. During this game and practice in the weeks leading up to it, the team was very focused on possessing the ball and their transition play and their work paid off as they passed around Brother Rice and tired them out.
