Boys varsity tennis places 2nd in the FHC Quad

Boys varsity tennis faced off against four other teams in the FHC Quad on Saturday. The FHC quad consisted of Forest Hills Eastern, West Ottawa, and Mona Shores along with FHC. The Rangers battled together and ended up placing 2nd in the quad.

FHC doubles almost swept the entire tournament. Two and three doubles were undefeated in their matches. Two doubles, consisting of freshman Cully Herbert and junior Ali Azeem, beat Mona shore 6-1 in the first set and 6-2 in the second set. They also beat West Ottawa 6-2 and 6-1. At the end of their matches, they beat FHE 7-5 in the first set and lost in the second set 6-3. The tiebreaker set was a very close battle, but FHC ultimately took the win 14-12. Three doubles, which is sophomores Ben Koning and Jeremy James, went 3-0 on Saturday. They beat Mona Shores 6-0 and 6-1 and Ottawa Hills 6-4 and 6-1. They also beat FHE in the tiebreaker set 7-4.  

The Rangers came together as a team on Saturday and were able to place high in the tournament. This quad does not go towards their OK White Conference record. So, their record is still 1-1. FHC takes on Cedar Springs Monday, September 17 at Cedar Spring High School.
