Boys varsity tennis dominates against Cedar Springs 9-0
Last year the boys varsity tennis team swept the whole match against Cedar Springs. They wanted to do the same this year, and they did. The Rangers won every single match in every flight against Cedar Springs to take the victory in Monday’s battle 9-0.
One single, which is junior Nick Sojlin, won both his sets 6-1 and 6-2. Junior Suchir Gupta did well in his match. Suchir is two doubles and he beat his opponent without trouble, as he earned two 6-0 shutout wins. Doubles also had a great night. One double, which consists of sophomore Chris Battiste and junior Advith Reddy, beat the Redhawks 6-0 and 6-1. Three doubles, which are sophomores Ben Koning and Jeremy James also went undefeated with two 6-0 wins. The Rangers were very supportive of each other, and that played a key role in their successful night; the JV team was also there to support the varsity team, helping the older players dominate the match.
The Rangers look forward to continuing this winning streak for the rest of the season. This puts FHC’s OK White Conference record at 2-1. The Rangers will be playing against Ottawa Hills next on Wednesday at 4:15.
