The girls JV volleyball team dominates against Ottawa Hills 2-0
In the beginning of the season, the girls JV volleyball team defeated Ottawa Hills easily. They won the first set 25-9 and the second set 25-12. This time around, the Rangers were able to do that again. They dominated against the Bengals in two very quick and easy games. Overall, FHC went 2-0 for the night.
During the first game, the Rangers had the lowest amount of energy than they have had during the entire season. However, FHC was still able to finish the game quickly. Throughout the first set, the Rangers got most of their points from the Bengals’ mistakes. They focused more on having fun and trying new volleyball positions. FHC won the first game 25-9. Sophomore Katie Costello and freshman Grace Hunkins were the key players in the first game. Katie had really good sets and Grace had critical passes to the hitters. In the second game, the Rangers picked up the pace quite a bit. The Rangers had lots of energy and were fired up to play the second set. The Rangers were able to switch up some of their plays and practice their jump serves. Ultimately, the Rangers won the second set 25-11. Sophomores Lily Campbell and Rachel Toole helped end the game faster. Lily had good hits and Rachel had good defense.
Last night, FHC showed a unified team that had great communication and skill. This win puts the Rangers’ OK White Conference record at 9-1. Tonight FHC will be facing off against Lowell, which should be a more intense game.
