Girls JV volleyball defeats Greenville 2-0 in final game of the season
The girls JV volleyball team has been able to keep its winning streak alive, only losing one game at the beginning of the season. The Rangers have faced off against some tough competition but have been able to defend themselves. Last night the Rangers took on the Yellow Jackets of Greenville for their last game. FHC was able to dominate against them and win 2-0.
During the first game, the Rangers came out strong with high energy. The Rangers were a unified team that had great passes that the hitters were able to attack the net with. The only points the Yellow Jackets were able to get was off of the Rangers’ mistakes. The Rangers were able to defeat Greenville 25-14 in the opening set. Some key players in the first game were sophomore Delaney Michalski and freshman Grace Hunkins. Delaney had some strong hits that the Yellow Jackets couldn’t return and Grace had great passes and was very vocal on the court.
During the second set, FHC had a harder time dominating in the game. They started off a little bit slower than they did in the first game, and Greenville was able to stay with the Rangers for a little, but then the Rangers got on a serving streak and won the second set 25-16. Some key players in the second set were Delaney and sophomore Lilly Vanskiver; Delaney had perfect sets for the attackers and she had great hustle and energy. Lilly was a key player because she was very smart with her tips and hits and played with a high energy. Due to an easier match, FHC was able to switch up their hitting plays and players; many of the players were able to play different positions than what they normally do.
The Rangers were able to go undefeated for the majority of the season, only losing to the Northern Huskies. This win puts the Rangers OK White Conference record at 11-1.
