FHC’s Alex Souza competes at the bowling State Champonships
Competing alongside 60 of the best bowlers in Division 2, junior Alex Souza more than held his own at the Individual Bowling State Championships this weekend.
Alex started off strong with his scores of 173 and 168 in the first two games, but his scores in his third and fifth games held him back. He made a bit of a comeback in the standings with his fourth and sixth scores, with the former being his high score on the day with a 202. Unfortunately, he fell well short of a top-16 finish in the qualifying rounds and was not able to advance, as he finished in fifty-first with an overall score of 999. With less than 100 pins separating Alex and a top-30 finish, it showed how competitive the qualifying round was and the high quality of the bowlers from across the state of Michigan.
