Varsity softball completes sweep against Ottawa Hills
Last Friday, the varsity softball team completed a full sweep against Ottawa Hills. The Rangers came out and finished with high energy in both games. FHC won the first game 45-0 and the second game 33-0. The Rangers mercied the Bengals in both games.
In the first game, senior Emma Davis led the team in RBIs with 3. Seniors Tori Macleod, Val Nuffer, Hailey Enbody, Zoey Guikema, Lauren Mittelstadt, sophomores Faith Addington and Kylie Halverson, and juniors Maizey Szczepanek and Jordyn Carlson all had 1 RBI. The Rangers also totaled 17 hits in the first game.
In the second game, senior Molly Donovan and Emma led the team in RBIs with 4 each. Senior Carmen Marshall was right behind them with 3. Molly was able to hit a 2-run home run, while Lauren was able to run the bases quickly to earn an in-park home run. Overall, the Rangers were walked 17 times and had 11 hits for this game.
In the first game, Tori pitched; she had 7 strikeouts and 0 walks. Junior Caitlin Snyder pitched in the second game with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.
These wins put the Rangers’ overall record at 9-6 and their OK White conference record at 8-1. FHC will be facing off against the Red Arrows of Lowell on Monday for the team’s toughest series of the season.
