JV softball falls to rival Lowell 14-5
Freshman Remmie Gavle went 1-2 with 2 walks on the night to hit .500 and lead the Rangers at the plate against a very tough Lowell team. The Red Arrows, however, were able to rack up 14 hits on the nights and take the game 14-5 against FHC.
Junior Katie Willemin and freshman Georgia Alstadt each picked up 3 hits in 4 at-bats, as both of them had a big night at the plate. Freshman Leanna Clark also picked up a couple of base hits and hit .500 on the night, while junior Maddy Wahl was able to go 1-3 in her at-bats. While hits were somewhat plentiful for the Rangers, the batting order could not manufacture runs and thus 11 runners were left on base.
Sophomore Bela Gonzalez pitched a complete game while giving up 14 runs on 14 hits with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks. The defense thoroughly struggled behind her, as 6 errors were committed in the game to give Lowell a convincing win.
With this tough loss, the team’s record comes to 5-8 (5-4). The Rangers will be back in action tonight against Lowell once again for a doubleheader to finish the conference series.
