JV softball dominates against Mona Shores, wins 16-6
Freshman Alyssa Wierenga had a career night at the plate by going 4-4 to lead the JV softball team to a big 16-6 win over Mona Shores.
Sophomore Bela Gonzalez pitched a solid game with 11 strikeouts in addition to just 2 walks. She allowed 6 runs on 7 hits, but the Rangers got things done on the offensive end to secure the win.
Junior Anna Breaugh also had a stand-out night to go 3-3 at the plate. Junior Katie Willemin, sophomore Bela Gonzalez, and freshman Lyra Vandenberg each picked up 2 hits to contribute to the hot FHC offense as well last night. The Rangers were able to post 16 runs and pick up the 16-6 mercy win in six innings.
This win brings the team’s record to 7-11 (6-7) and gives the Rangers much-needed momentum headed into a stiff test against Hudsonville on Friday.
