Isaiah Huempfner places seventh in conference to help boys varsity golf place second in the tournament
Boys varsity golf faced off in the conference tournament and placed second behind rival Forest Hills Northern.
It was a long season that led up to this, and the boys gave it their all and proved that they are one of the better teams in the conference. Junior captain Isaiah Huempfner had the seventh lowest score of the day with a 78. He has been phenomenal all season and will have to be on his A game if he wants to do well in Regionals. He was also the top scorer for the Rangers, as he has been all season.
Also up there in the leaderboard was freshman Joe Murdock, who has proved his spot on the team from day one. He finished with 81 and was the tenth lowest in the conference and second lowest for the Rangers. He not only brings immense talent to the team, but he also brings his impressive scores and leadership on the course. Although he’s younger, Joe has been someone the team looks up to for a majority of the season.
This was a big day for the Rangers, and they came out and scored a 326 with two top-ten finishers. Their next match is Regionals on Thursday, May 30.
