Boys JV soccer ties powerhouse Grand Rapids Christian Eagles 0-0

Last night, the boys JV soccer team took on the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles in a closely-fought game all the way through. The contest was a nail-biter as the teams went on to tie with a score of 0-0.

The Ranger defense remained strong and intact all the way through the game. Sophomore Ryan Fitzgerald stepped up immensely as he went from playing his normal goalie position to center back in place of sophomore Gavin O’Meara, who was unable to attend last night’s game. Ryan led the team all the way through the game and kept the defense going by helping to not allow any Eagles players to pass their line of defense.

Despite this strong performance, the Rangers were not able to score any goals on the attacking side of the field. The only thing that didn’t go in their favor last night was possessing the ball once won. However, after coming off two losses, this tie against the Eagles was just what the team needed to get momentum back and get them prepared for the other challenging teams that lie ahead of them in their upcoming season.

The boys will take on the Greenville Yellow Jackets in their next game of the season. They are looking for their first win and to change their record to a solid 1-2-1 on Tuesday.
