Boys varsity tennis falls to a very strong Forest Hills Northern program 7-1

The Rangers faced off against Forest Hills Northern and played their hearts out, but lost 7-1. The Huskies have been one of the most dominant tennis programs in the state and continued to prove that tonight.

Freshman Samuel Yin played his first match for FHC last night which turned into the only win for the Rangers. He dominated his first game 6-3 and his second 6-4 against the two singles player from Northern. Freshman Chris Shang, four singles, lost a tough three-set match to an excellent player but gave a flicker of hope for the Rangers which pushed them through the following matches.

Five doubles team senior Hans Siebert and sophomore Nick Yasenchak also lost a tight three-set match as well and has been a powerful addition to the team thus far.

The Rangers will have redemption against the Huskies at the conference tournaments and regionals. Their next match is Tuesday, September 10 against Northview at 4:15.
