Facing some heavy competition this weekend, the Rangers got seventh out of 12 teams in a relay meet. This meet featured some stiff competition as the girls faced off against schools such as Rockford and Zeeland. Despite finding some difficulty beating those teams, the girls still did well in this meet, obtaining more MISCA qualifiers and even a state cut.

The Rangers did well in most of the relays, but one relay stands out. The 200-yard medley relay team, consisting of Olivia Hooper, Jessica Doyel, Sydney VanLente, and Sydney Kushak got second in the relay and qualified for the state meet with a time of 1:56.36. This beat East Grand Rapids, the third-place finisher, by just .08 seconds and only lost to Zeeland, who won the meet overall. Other solid performances include the 400-yard medley relay team and the 200-yard backstroke relay, both of whom got fourth in their respective races. The 400-yard medley team included Olivia Hooper, Jessica Doyel, Sarah Schenck, and Hailee Sincerbeaux and got fourth with a time of 4:14.47. The 200-yard backstroke relay team of Maggie Hier, Maggie Zorn, Sarah Chesner, and Olivia Hooper took fourth with their time of 1:56.84. On a more individual level, Ellie Field qualified for the MISCA meet in the 200-yard free event with a time of 2:06.23.

The girls swam well in this meet against some very fast competition, continuing to improve with every meet. The next meet they will be taking a break from bigger meets and swimming in a dual meet against Grand Rapids Christian on September 17 at 6 pm. This meet will be their second home meet and after the loss to Rockford at home, the Rangers will be looking to get their first win at home.
