Varsity volleyball defeats the Ottawa Hills Bengals 3-0
Last night, the varsity volleyball team traveled to Ottawa Hills High School to take on the Bengals in an OK White Conference matchup. This was the Rangers’ first time taking on the Bengals this season, and they were able to walk away with a win in the first three sets of the game.
The first set came to an end with a score of 25-9 in the Rangers’ favor. As the second set began, the Rangers took a quick lead and never slowed down, leading them to a victory with a final score of 25-9 once again. However, the last set was the Rangers’ most successful on the offensive and defensive side of the court; the Rangers went on to win and only allowed the Bengals four points, ending with a score of 25-4.
Sophomore Brooklyn Conner had an exceptional performance against the Bengals, and she finished with a total of seven kills, leading the team for the night. Junior Tatum Otolski and senior Lauren Schofield were right behind Brooklyn in kills, both finishing with five. The Rangers’ leading scorer ended up to be junior Morghan Tilton. Morghan finished with a total of 21 points and set up several of her teammates with scoring opportunities as well.
Next up for the girls, the varsity volleyball team will be competing against several schools this weekend as they travel to Rockford and compete in the Power League of Rockford Invite. The first game will begin this Saturday, September 28 at 8:30 AM.
