Q: Why are you running for Board Secretary?

A: I am running for this position because I want to help lead the school by organizing events and helping in any way I can.

Q: Did you run for anything in previous years?

A: Yes, I have been the secretary for the class of 2017 for the past three years.

Q: What impact would you like to have on FHC?

A: I would like everyone to get involved in events that can benefit not only the community around us but the world. We have the potential to provide money, time, and work for worldwide organizations.

Q: What separates you from other candidates?

A: I think most people know that I am a hard-working and compassionate person, I am hoping that sets me apart.

Q: What would you like to change the most?

A: I would like everyone to be included; often I feel that kids feel excluded due to their grade, gender, looks, etc. I want to activities at our school to be inclusive and a unified event.

Q: What other things are you involved in at FHC?

A: I am involved in many activities around the community. In FHC, I am part of the ranger marching band as well as NHS. I am currently in student council. I also started getting involved with the environmental club towards the end of the year, and I am planning on being a member of its next year.

Q: What is the most valuable characteristic within yourself that will help you run?

A: I think being a person who understands and listens to others is a characteristic that enhances me. Many students at our school want their ideas to be heard and implemented. I want to be a leader that is approachable to everyone so that their ideas can be validated.

Q: What teacher has influenced you the most during high school?

A: I think I have learned valuable lessons from all my teachers. Mrs. Penninga taught be to be kind, Mrs. Mills taught me to keep pushing myself, Mr. Chudy taught me to have fun, Senora Dykhouse inspires me to open my mind to opportunities, and so on. So I can’t say I have a favorite teacher. They all teach me a culmination of ideas that I strive to implement in my life.
