This past week the varsity volleyball team took on two opponents in two very close games. The first game was against an OK White conference opponent, the Greenville Yellowjackets, and the Rangers were able to secure another conference win in that game. Next, they headed out to Mona Shores High School and took on the Moana Shores Sailors picking up a second win for the week.

Taking on the Greenville Yellowjackets the Rangers started off strong, the Rangers secured a narrow win in the first set with a score of 25-23. The momentum carried with the Rangers into the second set where they cleaned up the competition with a score of 25-15. In the final set, the Rangers beat the Yellowjackets 25-13 and finished the game off in only three sets. Junior Morghan Tilton had a stellar game, picking up an astounding 30 assists and 11 digs for the entirety of the game. Senior captain Lauren Schofield also had a very impressive performance for the Rangers finishing the game with eight digs, and 14 kills throughout the game.

The Rangers then headed to Mona Shores to take on the Sailors. Once again, FHC picked up a win in only three sets, ending the first set 25-15. The second set was a near replica of the first set, and the Rangers secured a win easily with a score of 25-13. With these two wins already the Rangers only needed to win one more set to secure a win, and in the third and final set, they won with a score of 25-19. Junior Tatum Otolski led the Rangers in kills for the night and was able to single-handedly place ten kills on the Sailor’s side of the net. Another Ranger making an impact in the win was sophomore Sophie Shields. Sophie had five good kills on the night along with ten attacking attempts in the Rangers favor.

The Ranger’s next game will take place against the Cedar Springs Red Hawks in their final match before their first OK White Tri of the season. The game will take place at Cedar Springs High School, and will begin at 6:00 pm.
