Varsity volleyball picks up a win over cross-town rival Forest Hills Northern Huskies
Last night the varsity volleyball team took on their cross-town rival: the Forest Hills Northern Huskies. The Rangers had previously beat the Huskies earlier in the season, and they managed to pull off another huge win last night in four sets.
In the first set of the game, the Rangers dominated over the Huskies winning 25-11. The second set didn’t go in the Rangers favor, and they went on to be defeated 25-21. However, they turned the game back around in the third set and beat the Huskies 25-19. Heading in the fourth set, the Rangers only needed one more win to solidify the game, and they walked away victorious with a score of 25-20.
A couple of key players for the Rangers was junior Tatum Otolski and junior Morghan Tilton. Tatum did a fantastic job at getting several kills on the attacking side and placing it out of the Huskies reach. Alongside her, Morghan had a stellar game as a setter and can be accounted for many assists. As a team, the Rangers had a rough first two sets; however, they came together in the end and pulled off an important conference victory.
The Rangers will be taking on the Ottawa Hills Bengals next Tuesday, October 29. The game will take place at home at 6:00 pm. It is senior night for the Rangers as well and will conclude their regular season play.
