Boys Swim and Dive destroys East Kentwood and Forest Hills Northern/Eastern

The Rangers had their first two dual meets this year against East Kentwood and Forest Hills Northern/Eastern. They killed Northern/Eastern 126-54 and East Kentwood 110-76. This is a great start to the team’s conference season and establishes them as a huge contender in their premier season.

The Rangers won the day, taking first in most of the events. The 200-yard medley relay team won with their time of 1:42.10. The next race, [freshman] Ben Rogala took the 200-yard freestyle, swimming a 1:54.31. Senior CJ Hier followed that up with his 2:10.06 win in the 200-yard individual medley.

Junior Avery LeTourneau won the 100-yard fly, and senior Lawrence Simons took the 100-yard freestyle with his time of 1:01.00. The 100-yard back was a victory, with freshman Isaac Stewart swimming 1:09.49. Freshman Aden Pomeroy then took the 100-yard breast with his time of 1:17.18. To finish out the meet, the Rangers took the 400-yard freestyle relay with their time of 3:32.23. Throughout the meet, the Rangers only lost a couple of races, exhibiting a deep roster of fast athletes.

This meet puts the Rangers in a very favorable position heading into the rest of the season. Next up will be the West Michigan Relay meet. The Rangers took third in the last relay meet, so expectations are high heading into their third meet of the season.
