How did you get into swimming?
“I started swimming when I was 7 years old because I had asthma. My parents felt that the best way to strengthen my lungs would be by joining the swim team.”
What is your favorite part of being on the team?
“My favorite part about being on the team is the atmosphere we create when we are all motivated and how easily we work together as a team.”
What is your most memorable race?
“My most memorable race would be during my freshman year at my old school when I helped break a freshman medley relay record.”
How do you feel the season has gone so far?
“Although I am faster than I was last year, I feel that I still have a lot of potential left. As a team, we are swimming very well and I feel that we surprise other teams with our successful record even though our team is so small.”
Any advice for new swimmers?
“For new swimmers, do not let yourself give up so easily. There were hundreds of occasions where I wanted to drag myself out of the pool, but every time I didn’t I became stronger both mentally and physically.”
