Freshman girls basketball picks up a win in first conference game
Last night, the freshman girls basketball team picked up a big win in its first official conference game of the season. They took on the Greenville Yellow Jackets on the Rangers’ home court and dominated the entirety of the game, winning 43-17.
Freshman Maya Holser was the Rangers’ leading scorer once again last night. She picked up 18 of the Rangers’ 43 points, with the majority of them coming in the first half in which she finished with 12 points. As the Rangers headed into halftime, they had a substantial lead of 34-4 and continued on a dominant path over the Yellow Jackets.
Alongside Maya was freshman Frankie Sutton, who also had a stellar game last night. Frankie was able to provide a key quality for the Rangers win last night: her three-point shots. She picked up all three of the Rangers three-point shots and had four more points as well.
The freshman girls will play again next Tuesday, January 14. They will be taking on the Cedar Springs Red Hawks at 5:30 pm. The game will be taking place on the FHC home court where the girls hope to continue their winning streak to four games.
