Junior Tommy Payne led the way again for FHC Bowling, as they held on to beat Lowell after a rough performance by a score of 22-8. The Rangers were averaging a very low score coming into game 2 two but eventually pulled away with high scores from seniors Alex Souza and Ben Kastner as they took a commanding lead in game two.
FHC came into this match after losing a tough match in Greenville the week before, and the boys were looking for redemption after the loss.
“We wanted this win bad,” head coach Grant Vermeer said. “We had a very rough start but pulled together and came ahead in the end.”
Some standout performances of the night were from Tommy and Ben. Tommy had a great first game, leading the team in points with 166 and eventually coming up with 178 points in game 2 to seal it. Tommy, along with Ben and Alex, combined for over 450 of the Rangers’ points in the second game to clinch the win.
The team will be bowling on Wednesday the 22nd against Northview, and after that, they will take on multiple opponents on Saturday, January 25th at Fairlanes in Grandville.
