Despite their best efforts, the boys swim and dive team was thoroughly defeated by the incredibly skilled EGR team 102-76. EGR is one of, if not the most challenging opponent the Rangers will face this year, and they lived up to their reputation, with junior Avery LeTourneau being the only Ranger to win a race without EGR exhibitioning the race off. This meet was expected to be tough, but some Rangers stepped up and met their competition head-on, leading to some bright spots in this unfortunate meet for the Rangers.

The 200-yard medley relay, for example, took second, with the team of sophomore Benji Zorn, senior Kyle Carter, senior Dani Ahmetovic, and Avery securing their time of 1:44.18. Avery also secured his aforementioned first place in the 200-yard individual medley with his time of 2:01.49 shortly after. Kyle once again contributed with a second-place finish in the 100-yard fly with his time of 57.89.

Senior CJ Hier entered the fray with a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, secured with his time of 51.06. Junior Josh Stevenson and sophomore Sam Yeager went 1-2 with their times of 5:25.83 and 5:33.05 in the 500-yard freestyle; they were followed by Avery, who once again stepped up to take first in the 100-yard back with his time of 55.26, having the best time out of everyone, including the exhibitioned EGR swimmers. To finish out the meet, CJ and Benji went 2-3 in the 100-yard breast with their times of 1:03.71 and 1:02.89.

The Rangers faced massive adversity but managed to come out with solid placements in several races and a stellar performance from Avery. Next week, the Rangers look to use the challenge of this meet to defeat Jenison in yet another away meet.
