Overcoming a long season full of sickness and injuries, FHC’s competitive cheer team made a statement on Wednesday, finishing fourth overall at the OK White conference finals at Cedar Springs. After what the girls described as a couple of poor performances, they wanted to make a statement coming into their Conference Finals meet.
“We have had to rework parts of our rounds and add new people into them,” junior Lydia Vanderiet said. “We had to perfect our details coming into this match so we could finish the rest of the season strong.”
The Rangers made a statement in the first round as they scored a 209.9. They felt strong going into the second round of the competition but then fell short with a score of 181. They felt like it was needed to make one final statement for their season. The girls did exactly that, scoring 280 in round 3. Overall, the team finished with a score of 670.9.
Next, the Rangers will face multiple opponents on Saturday, February 15th.
