Freshman girls basketball remains undefeated in their conference play
In the last week, the freshmen girls basketball team took on two OK White Conference teams and succeeded in beating both of them significantly. However, one of the keys to each of the Rangers’ victories was freshman Maya Holser.
In FHC’s game against the Northview Wildcats, Maya put up 21 points total for the Rangers in their 38-25 win. The game against the Wildcats remained close, but the Rangers were able to pull away with their seventh straight conference win. Freshman Frankie Sutton was the next highest scorer on the team with four points, and she kept the offensive side of the game running smoothly from the point-guard position.
Next, the Rangers took on the Greenville Yellow Jackets. After already beating the Yellow Jackets earlier in the season by 26, they were able to dominate once again winning with a score of 52-20. Frankie led the team in points against the Yellowjackets with 16, and Maya followed close behind with 15. Other contributors to the Rangers’ victory were sophomore Madison Wilkins with six points and freshman Elizabeth Latunski with eight points.
After these two victories, the Rangers are sitting at the top of the OK White Conference. They are currently undefeated and will continue on with their conference play this week as they head to Cedar Springs High School to take on the Red Hawks. Their game will be this Tuesday, February 11 at 5:30 pm.
