Boys varsity tennis wins all three matches at their quad in West Ottawa
Over the weekend the boys varsity tennis team competed in a quad tournament over in West Ottawa, Michigan. They competed against Mona Shores, West Ottawa, and Mattawan. They come out on top against each of the three teams with some of the boys even going undefeated for the entire tournament.
In the match against Mona Shores, all of the boys gave it their best and went 8-0 for the day.
Having an amazing two singles match, senior Jeremy James swept his opponent in all of their games, going 6-0 and 6-0 for his matches. Jeremy played really well all day and went undefeated in all three of his matches.
Against West Ottawa, the final score was a bit closer with an end result of the Rangers winning 6-2. Dominating his one singles court, sophomore Sammy Yin won every single one of his games as well. Sammy has been playing really well and working hard all season and it showed a lot during his matches on Saturday.
The second doubles team of senior Nick Stockenaur and junior Walker Sjolin also had an undefeated day, but it came down to the wire at the end. The boys were tied 1-1 against Mattawan and went into a third set. Coming out on top, the doubles team helped the Rangers win a fifth match against the Wildcats. Beating Mattawan 5-3, the team secured their third and final win for the day, making them 3-0 for the overall tournament score.
The next match for the team is a conference dual against Northview on September 21st. The team continues their season with an astounding record of 12-1-3.
