Freshman volleyball grabs easy win against Wayland to end the season
On Thursday, the girls freshman volleyball team took on a non-conference Wayland team for their last game of the season. The Rangers did not know much about this team, but they hoped to win, as it was the teams’ last time together for the year.
In the first set, the Rangers came out with exceptional energy and communication. They could tell early that Wayland was not on the same level as them, so they took advantage and made some great plays to give them a good lead. Later in the game, Wayland started to put some points on the board, but the Rangers were just too much for them, and won the first set 25-17.
The second set followed in the same pattern as the first. The Rangers continued to keep up the great energy and communication. There was not much Wayland could do when the Rangers played like this and they couldn’t keep up. The Rangers finally closed out the game by a crushing score of 25-13.
“Everyone played very well in both sets,” freshman Kadence Roelfzema said. “It was a really fun match and a great way to end the season.”
The girls finished their season with an 11-3 record, and were very happy to end it with a win.
