League of Legends is definitely one of the most hated games; it has a bad reputation among the gaming community, even among its player base. People that play League, and people that don’t, will all tell you the same thing: ‘don’t play League of Legends.’ 

League of Legends is a team-based fighting game with five players on two different teams. The whole point of the game is to destroy the other team’s base. Of course, there are things along the way to prolong the game such as turrets, minions, and enemy players.

I started playing League of Legends because one of my friends suggested it, and I thought I would give it a shot. I remember thinking about how complicated this game seemed and how it was going to take forever for me to learn. Thanks to my friend, I was able to learn how to play quickly. 

Even after quickly learning how to play, I hated the game. It was boring, frustrating, and every match would take an hour of my life. I wanted to quit playing this because I was awful at it, and I hated losing over and over again, but one day, I decided to force myself to play this game alone and try and get better. It took around five days for me to start actually enjoying this game, but once I did, I was hooked.

League of Legends on paper would sound like it is some kind of boring and repetitive game, but that is not the case. Due to its wide champion selection, each game plays differently from the previous one. When playing against different champions you have to switch how you play, what runes to set up, and what items to build. Also, each player you go up against will have a different play style, making for a more interesting and intense match. 

League does a fantastic job at making each champion unique and different from the other. Though League has a variety of champions, they always do their best to improve all of them equally and try their best to balance all of them. The people that run League get a lot of hate for certain champions, but they do try their best to make the game balanced and fun for people. 

With each champion comes certain items to build, and League does a wonderful job at making each item match well with characters. With a large variety of items, League gives players an array of choices to build and items to make the game more interesting. 

One of the downsides to League is the many toxic players in its community. When I first started playing League, I played a match where I did terribly, and one of my teammates would remind me just how badly I did. The match was a normal match, he didn’t have anything to lose from it, but regardless, he would go on and on and tell me how bad I was. Essentially, this sums up most players in League and is probably one of the main reasons that so many new players stopped playing.

Despite the toxic community, League is still one of the most fun and addictive games out there. I hope people would look past all these negative reviews and actually give the game a shot to see just how fun League actually is.
