Recently on TikTok, a snippet of Jack Harlow’s single “First Class” became extremely popular across the app. After hearing it multiple times as I scrolled through aimlessly, the chorus quickly became ingrained in the back of my mind. When I saw that he released an entire album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, I couldn’t resist checking it out.

One of my favorite aspects of the album was the underlying theme in the musicality. Each song maintained a continuous, laid-back beat that gave off airport vibes. In most albums, if the songs all have similar musicality, then the songs will all sound the same, but in Come Home The Kids Miss You, it establishes a specific mood for each song and provides a subsequent amount of versatility among each track.

The track that has the most airport vibes to it is most definitely “First Class,” which fits the title. The chorus is extremely catchy, as Harlow is also using his lyrics to spell out “glamorous.” The verses are very fast-moving, but when paired with the actual music, it creates a perfect blend where each aspect of the song complements the other.

Another song I enjoyed was the first track, “Talk Of The Town.” The mixture of his rap style and piano was intriguing. It added a smooth aspect to the song that was light and enjoyable. Out of the entire song, the intro was my favorite, where it was just Harlow’s voice and the piano before he added the rest of the base and beats in the background.

I also absolutely loved the tenth track in Come Home The Kids Miss You, “Churchill Downs (feat. Drake).” This song was extremely relaxing, and fit the overall theme of the music. I loved how low-key the whole song was, and I feel like it could fit any occasion.

Come Home The Kids Miss You is the perfect album for background noise. Many times, I get distracted by the background music that I have on because of the erratic noises and effects that the song may have, or if there is a string of lines that make me stop doing my work and sing along. With Harlow’s album, the songs are all very calming and smooth, which makes them perfect for doing work, chores, or background music for hanging out with friends.

I have never listened to Harlow’s music before this, and I was given a good impression. Come Home The Kids Miss You is a relaxing album that can be listened to as background noise, airport music, or on any occasion.
