A lot of people are proud owners of pets, whether that be a cat, dog, hamster, or bunny. And a lot of people can claim to have watched all, or a lot of, Disney princess movies. While each animal has its own personality, most species are pretty similar in the way they act. If we were to transform our pets into a Disney princess, which one would they be?
Dogs
Dogs are simple, determined creatures. They’re happy as long as you are, and they’re boundless balls of energy most of the time. Therefore, their perfect match has to be a princess who is determined, optimistic, and all-around someone who wants to be around you. The princess who best fulfills these requirements is Anna from the Disney hit film Frozen. As much as her sister rejects her, Anna still goes after her without a second thought when she fears her sister may be in danger. As much as her sister tries to get rid of her, Anna is relentless, much like our furry friends. Both dogs and Anna prove again and again their loyalty, kindness, and compassion.
Cats
On the opposite side of dogs, there are cats. Cats take the loyalty of a dog and flip it entirely around. They don’t want to be around you; you want to be around them. Cats are clever and arrogant, and they hold their heads high. Disney princesses, however, are supposed to be the opposite. Because of this, it was more difficult to find a princess who matched a cat correctly. But after matching dogs with Anna, the answer became clear: Elsa from Disney’s Frozen was the obvious choice. While her sister Anna chases her down, Elsa continues to dodge her affection, choosing a life of solitude. Similarly, as much as cat owners try to hunt down their pets, they’re usually met with glares or a sleeping cat who couldn’t care less.
Bunnies
Bunnies are basically just a ball of fluff. They sit, sleep, and eat. And while they chase this fulfilling lifestyle, their owners are expected to feed, comfort, and clean up after them. Bunnies are not the main characters, and calling them side characters is a reach. Matching them to a Disney Princess should seem like a challenge; however, it was anything but. The choice is clear, Aurora. Her own movie isn’t even named after her, opting for a more appropriate name: Sleeping Beauty. The reason they chose the title is obvious: she looks good, and she spends the entire movie asleep, waiting for someone to wake her. Just like how our bunnies sleep, eat, and… that’s it.
Hamsters
Hamsters always die in the craziest ways, it’s almost as if they crave danger, but most likely they’re just incredibly stupid. So, which Disney princess is always heading straight first into danger for basically no reason? That would be Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Yes, I understand that, technically, she had a reason to stay roommates with the beast to save her dad. But I feel like she could have just run away pretty easily. Anyway, for the sake of this article, I’m just going to ignore the whole character arc for the beast’s character and the moral of the story. Omitting that, the beast is literally what he’s called a beast. Hairy, claws and fangs included. And yet, Belle simply ignores it. Just like our fluffy hamster friends ignoring everything around them. Even though they feel the heat of the fire, don’t be surprised if they jump in.
Yes, all pets have their own personality, but most of them fall into the same category. Whether that be their level of intelligence, loyalty, or energy, most of them have a Disney princess match somewhere if you put in the time to look.
