I Loved You Preview Q&A

Film: I Loved You

Producer: Charlie Soucey

1.) What theme would you consider your film?

“I would consider “I Loved You” to be an action/adventure thriller with a touch of drama.”

2.) Can you give a brief overview of the plot of your film?

“A boy runs from the mistakes he made in his past.”

3.) What inspired the storyline?

“We really wanted to challenge ourselves as filmmakers by making a story that was filled with a lot of action and a small amount of dialogue. We thought that a story about someone being pursued was a perfect vessel for this idea.”

4.) Through the film, what message are you conveying to your audience?

“We are conveying a message about abandoning the people you love, and the consequences that follow.”

5.) How is your film different than others being shown?

“We have an original soundtrack made by Tony Moceri, and the film is comprised of lots of intense action sequences that will grip audiences.”

6.) Can you provide the details of your filming/editing process?

“We spent a lot of time planning action sequences and figuring out the most effective way to film these sequences. Because we didn’t have much dialogue, we went back and spent time balancing the audio in our action scenes with the music to make sure that everything was balanced. We also had some special effects scenes that took a decent amount of time to film as well as edit.”

7.) How did you pick your actors/actresses?

“We decided that I would be a good fit as the main protagonist because I am smaller and weaker than both Josh Sweeney and Nolan Block, which would help convey the despair and fear of my character. Ellie [Matelic] also volunteered her time to play as the female lead and was a great on screen fit for my character.”
