Boys Varsity soccer rolls over Ottawa Hills 9-0
A mercy is something you don’t see everyday in soccer, but that is exactly what happened Thursday in this match between the Rangers and the Bengals of Ottawa Hills. Coming off a tough loss to rival Forest Hills Northern these Rangers were hungry. The Rangers started off fast and controlled the ball, having constant possession of the ball throughout the game. Many names got into the scoring mix for the Rangers, such as Seniors Cole Dareshori and MJ Francisco who both put one into the back of the net. Senior Eric Conerty has been putting on a show for Ranger fans as of late, including his 3 goal hat trick against the Bengals. With Ottawa Hills still struggling to generate any offense, it seemed as if the Rangers capitalized on every offensive opportunity they had. One goal led to another as the Rangers were able to mercy the Bengals 9-0.
This team has high expectations as they look to make another deep run into the state playoffs. Next up on the clock for the Rangers is the Lowell Red Arrows at Lowell’s home turf, which will take place Tuesday, Sept. 12. The way both teams are playing this is bound to be a great, hard fought game.
